A leading global oil and gas exploration group wanted to improve access to information and collective knowledge created by teams of specialists during regular bid round evaluation activities.

Informed Solutions was commissioned to provide a web based, user-friendly system able to be used effectively by both casual users as well as frequent, experienced power users. The solution provided document and free-form information storage and retrieval, and linked to both individual and groups of spatially related features via a map interface.

Designed to support the day-to-day working processes of the bid evaluation teams, as well as provide ad-hoc access to the resulting knowledge and information to the wider enterprise, the solution combines a simple spatial front-end with powerful back-end tools for information classification, searching, retrieval and downloading. The system has greatly improved decision support within the bid round process, and better protects the significant specialist know-how investment made in acquiring, assessing and classifying information during bid round activities.
